a TANKA is a pattern of syllables as such:  5-7-5-7-7.

Poem forms are nuts

Fun? Maybe.  Trying?  For sure.

My brain is numb now.

I like dogs playing poker

And dancing girls in saloons.

Swing batter, swing hard.

Hit the ball over the fence.

That is a home run.

And Homer was a poet

Of some very long poems.

Pungent onion stew

Always fills my stomach up.

My nose smells the stench.

I want some cinnamon tea

With it.  And ice cream.

How do we define that sense?

Ticklish naughty stuff

That should be kept to one’s self.

I bet you blush at this one.
